At Doors Wide Open, Charlene is an experienced Executive and Wellness Coach who works with innovative educational leaders, both international and North American. She is the past Program Director for the Vancouver Chapter of the ICF. She loves the process of working with clients as they become increasingly efficacious, focused and adaptive to ongoing opportunities, challenges, and change. And she strongly believes that personal wellness is essential to a leader’s success – and that all too often it is overlooked.
Charlene worked as an international educator teaching high and middle school students in B.C., and also in five prestigious international schools.

* Executive Coaching University courses
* Master’s in Education from College of New Jersey.
* Bachelor’s Degree and Teacher Certification from Simon Fraser University

John Roberts, M.Ed.
John is a consultant in strategic governance
and mission development who also offers both
executive and team coaching services
At Doors Wide Open, John works as a consultant in strategy, governance and mission development, and as an executive coach for school leaders and teams. He has served as a mentor and instructor in the graduate-level AAIE Institute for International School Leadership and has served on various educational and community boards. He is proud to have served 20+ school leaders as an executive coach, and worked with schools on several continents as an on-site or virtual consultant.
John has been working as an international educator for three decades in various roles such as superintendent, principal, and teacher. John’s tenure in international education includes senior leadership roles at the International School of Kenya, Lincoln Community School (Ghana), Escuela Campo Allegre (Venezuela), International School of Tanganyika, and the Anglo-American School of Moscow.
John is an avid continuous learner, bringing his curiosity to everything he does. His formal education includes:
*Certificate in Organizational Coaching from the University of British Columbia
* Klingenstein Fellowship in Educational Leadership at Columbia University
* Master’s in Education from Trenton State College
* Bachelor’s Degree and Teacher Certification from Simon Fraser University
John’s passions include educational transformation, social entrepreneurship, supporting exceptional leadership, hiking, cooking, and his family. He divides his time between Vancouver and South Pender Island.
